It's common place in the Choi Kwang Do Dojahng (school) to use
Korean to address pupils. We've outlined the commonly used Korean
terms used at the Tipson Choi Kwang Do Dojahng.
General Terms (Il-ban yong-uh)
- Pil Suhng: Certain Victory
- Dojahng: The School - House of Discipline
- Do Bok: Uniform
- Hyung: Pattern
- Jah-gee Bahng-uh: Self-Defense
- Ki Hap: Loud yell to Bring Out Mental and Physical Strength
- Sahjonim: Founder of the art - formal address for Grandmaster Choi
- Boo Sabumnim: Deputy Instructor
- Sabumnim: 'Teacher' - formal address for all instructors
- Kwan-jang-nim: International Instructor
- Sah-boo-nim: Master / Grandmaster
- Choi Kwang Do: The Art (or method) of Kwang Choi
